Outsourcing and Contracting for Resources

PMs have to be able to cope with the issues involved in bringing in outside resources for their projects. The contract stuff can be tricky and so can dealing with lawyers and producing RFPs and conducting bidder's conferences.

But the really tough part is dealing with the politics from your team members, stakeholders and sponsor. Often everybody has a buddy who can "do the work we need perfectly!" Watch the video.

In fairness, consultants and vendors are all looking for an "in" so they can secure the contract. How should PMs deal with these internal marketing efforts, often from team members and stakeholders?
