You actually practice by managing a systems development project. You build a schedule in MS project, write a plan with our templates. Each module gives you a realistic case study with real project executives and a team to deal with. You'll get personal feedback and coaching from your instructor on each assignment. You'll practice assigning tasks to your team and estimating durations. You then practice solving problems and reporting progress. You receive e-mail or telephone feedback from your instructor on every assignment.

Managing IT Projects Textbook
Read about how a project manager plans with multiple user managers about requirements, estimates cost and duration with the team using 5 different techniques. 3. PM Videos: Assess Their Work

At the end of each module, you'll watch a video of a project manager estimating with their team, working with poor performers and planning with a user executive. Then evaluate the PM's work . Submit your analysis to your instructor and get written feedback and discussion about the right way to handle the situations.

4. Practice with 1-to-1 Coaching

Practice all the techniques in 14 case study-based assignments and in private 1-to-1 role playing simulations with your instructor.You will gather requirements from users, negotiate with managers and present your plans and MS Project® schedules. Then you move on to assignments to track actual performance, use earned value to assess variances and plan corrective actions to solve problems.

You'll present your estimates of work and duration and your risk management plan and risk responses. You'll have to persuade the tough audience of executives that your plan is the way to go.

You'll receive 1-to-1 feedback and coaching from your instructor on every assignment.
