In 1986 a group of project managers formed 4PM.com in response to our clients’ requests for our methodology and techniques we used to successfully deliver projects on time, within budget and with a minimum of paperwork. Clients wanted their internal people to use the same techniques.
We Train Project Managers One At a Time
We teach practical tools and techniques and give project managers practice using them in real project situations. We write our own textbooks (14 books and published over 500 articles) because our approach is practical, not academic or theoretical. Some of our textbooks are so popular they are in their 9th and 10th editions.
Hands-on Personal Training Works the Best
We give every student a personal instructor who provides them with feedback and coaching tailored for their skill level and learning style. Our students emerge with professional-level skills in scheduling, estimating, risk management, progress tracking and much more.
World Class Learning Materials
The outstanding results our training produces come from giving project managers practice with the tools and techniques in real world project situations. To do that, all of our hands-on courses include live simulations. The project managers practice presenting information and answering questions from executives in private role-playing simulations with their instructor.
Communications is the Key
All of our hands-on courses include assignments where the student makes a live presentation to project sponsors, team members and stakeholders. We film the student’s presentations over the web so they can see themselves and relate their instructor’s feedback to their videos. This allows them to improve with each assignment.
Project Experts, Not Academics
Our instructors are practicing project managers with more than 12 years of industry experience. We spend the majority of our time managing projects and consulting with organizations on their projects. As a result our students get the benefit of our current real-world experience and the techniques we have developed to deal with all the challenges that project managers face.

Our courses have been reviewed and approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and we are a Global Registered Education Provider offering individual courses, PM certifications in 4 specialty areas . The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has approved our IT project management courses.
